Stop trying to write some floaty, ethereal spectacle—most likely a misguided attempt to parlay how laterally connected and special weed makes you feel—and start communicating. Poetry should not be an endless mirage of clichéd, thesaurus-sculpted blather. Find something worth saying before you say it then say it as directly and unambiguously as possible. No one cares enough about you to decode some dumb message like you’re depressed or you cut yourself or life sucks, and no one wants to hear how you liken everything to the stars, the universe, a dream, blood, bones, nature, or any of that shit. Don’t think you’re a genius because you describe things like thinking, feeling, or sex like a doctor would. You’re not god because you can imagine your internal processes and took freshman bio, intro to psych, and metaphysics. We all did. Stop polishing turds. Don’t write, communicate. You fucking twat.
