“The Girl Who Lost Her Colour”
THE GIRL WHO LOST HER COLOUR, has been feeling very glum
It seems like she lost her gusto, or maybe has just grown dumb
She can see the world’s full of colour, but she’s covered in foggy mists
No matter how much she tries to brighten, the greyness still persists.People keep asking her for ‘reasons’, as if she’s breaking sacred laws.
She just knows it is how she feels, even if there is no discernible cause.
She could see it in the mirror, as her colour slowly faded away
And it steadily got dimmer, until it was eventually gone one day.She used to hope that her colour, can be coloured in by a handsome boy
But she knows that that is fleeting— she has to be able to colour in her own joy.She wanders amongst the bright people, each a lovely vivid shade.
They look like the people on TV, all self-confident and self-made
She thinks they can tell she’s different, as she’s blinded by their glare
Always feeling like she doesn’t fit in, that no one could possibly care.Disappearing into her own darkness, she dreams of being a shiny vivid hue
